Come watch the best in North America!
The
best trials riders in North America are set to once again descend on
Northern California in an attempt to claim the prized NATC National
Championship title and the number 1 plate.
The final rounds of the National Championship of motorcycle trials will
take place on July 31 and August 1, 2010 at Donner Ski Ranch in Truckee,
California. Over the last 40 years, Donner Ski Ranch has become the home
of trials for the North Western region of the United States. It’s
amazing granite faces and huge boulders offer the perfect conditions for
the sport. In those 40 years, DSR has played host to countless local
trials events for Sacramento PITS, as well as numerous National and
World Championship trials events.
It has been three years since the NATC Championships came to Donner Ski
Ranch last. With this event being compromised of the last two rounds of
the series, it promises to be as entertaining as ever. The competitors
will be battling for every last point to better their season result and
try to win the National Championship title. Currently, Patrick Smage,
riding his Sherco machine, holds the #1 plate and is aiming to make this
the fourth straight season he does so. But Northern California and Gas
Gas USA rider Cody Webb will be aiming to take home his first National
Championship title. In 2007, Smage won the first round at Donner Ski
Ranch, with Webb taking the win the second day. It promises to be very
interesting with both riders matched closely in their skill on the
granite.
Although Smage is the defending national champion and Webb will be
backed by the local fans, no one can rule out the rest of the talented
field of Pro class riders hoping to make history this season: Keith
Wineland from Colorado took 4th place last season and, like every year,
hopes to better that performance this season. Among these three veterans
of the Pro class are 6 new comers who have extensive experience in
support classes of the NATC Championships. Karl Davis Jr. from Florida,
Ron Commo III from Georgia, Bailey Tucker from Colorado, Andrew Oldar
from Southern California, and Miles Morgan and Shad Petersen from
Wyoming all hope to catch Smage, Webb, and Wineland off-guard.
